Fort Augustus Tennis Club

Fort Augustus Tennis Club are seeking support and feedback on their plans to repair and upgrade the village tennis court. Fort Augustus Tennis Court (maintained by the Fort Augustus Tennis Club) has been operational for local community leisure & children sporting education as well as being an important addition for the tourist industry, with regular use in the season by visitors to Fort Augustus. Sadly though, the Club has been struggling to provide the service of coaching & club nights to both senior & junior members for the past 2 years. This is due to the deteriorating nature of the tennis court.

After careful consideration & discussion with community groups & Councilor Margaret Davidson – as a community asset & facility, we feel that the tennis court is well worth maintaining. In order to do this, funding is required to assist the resurfacing of the court, which also includes proper tennis fencing, curbs & an all weather coat.

A total of £17,800 is required to revamp this community amenity. At the moment sponsorship is being sought from such organisations as ‘Awards for All’. However, sums still remain.

If you or your business are able to support this appeal, or if you would like to comment on the plan, please contact Caroline Gregory (President, Fort Augustus Tennis Club).
